There are many ways to help keep children safe, and families strong in New Hampshire! For anyone interested in supporting our work with a gift of cash, appreciated stock (or other property), or some other financial gift, there are several important advantages to giving to the NHCTF that you should review and consider. Some giving options may involve meeting with us and/or your financial advisor. We are happy to do so!

Keeping children safe . . .
Since 1986 the New Hampshire Children’s Trust fund has been supporting community-based programs that prevent child abuse and neglect. We have learned that the most effective way to keep children safe is to facilitate the development of strong, healthy families, with confident and capable parents, caregivers and other adults who impact the lives of children.

Research shows that programs that support families can make a significant difference in the overall health of a community.  The NHCTF invests in positive outcomes for children and families through financial and programmatic support. Communities where we have provided long-term support have seen:

  • Fewer teenage pregnancies
  • Less juvenile delinquency
  • Improved behavior and performance of children at school
  • Fewer incidents of child abuse and neglect
  • More families moving from welfare to work that pays adequate wages
  • Increased self-confidence, knowledge of child development, and parenting skills among parents
  • Greater educational attainment among parents

You can make a difference Your gift to the New Hampshire Children’s Trust Fund can help us address the critical needs facing some of New Hampshire’s most vulnerable citizens, and prevent child abuse and neglect before it happens.

The advantages of making a gift

The New Hampshire Children’s Trust Fund enables you to pool your contribution(s) and/or proceeds from your named fund with others, and help support a range of community projects throughout the state that help prevent child abuse and neglect. Your charitable giving, even if targeted to a specific community or program, will help support community organizations and programs statewide that address child abuse, neglect, and family support issues.

Flexibility. The Fund can work directly with you and your financial advisors to structure your gift in a way that is most advantageous to you financially, while also meeting your philanthropic goals.

Informed Giving. The New Hampshire Children’s Trust Fund is continually evaluating ideas and projects that address child abuse and neglect prevention, as well as the emerging needs of communities throughout the state. We monitor all our grantees to ensure accountability, and continually track community indicators to ensure that funds are being invested in areas of greatest need. This expertise in available to you.

Tax Advantages. The New Hampshire Children’s Trust Fund has public charity status. Our donors receive the maximum tax deduction allowed by law.

Leadership. The New Hampshire Children’s Trust Fund is the primary philanthropic voice in the state concerning child abuse and neglect, and the programs and projects that prevent it. The NHCTF works throughout the year to bring together public, private, and nonprofit sectors to address this critical issue.

What to Give
Gifts of cash are the simplest forms of contribution. All your donations are tax deductible to the full extent permitted by law. Checks may be made payable to: New Hampshire Children’s Trust Fund, and mailed to:

New Hampshire Children’s Trust Fund
95 North State Street, Suite 3
Concord, NH 03301

Depending on your circumstances, it may be advantageous to make your donation in the form of appreciated securities such as stocks or bonds. In most cases, this type of donation brings the same tax-deductibility as cash gifts, which eliminates capital gains taxes.

Gifts of real estate and other appreciated properties can offer advantages similar to contributions of stocks and bonds. Be sure to call us to discuss any potential gifts of property.

You can remember the New Hampshire Children’s Trust Fund in your will either by a specific dollar amount or percentage, or as the residual beneficiary of your estate. A bequest can serve as an enduring memorial, in your name, or in the name of someone you wish to honor.

You can name the New Hampshire Children’s Trust Fund as owner and irrevocable beneficiary of a life insurance policy a way of making a contribution, as well as receiving a generous tax deduction.
NHCTF has also worked with a number of individuals and families who have generously named the New Hampshire Children’s Trust Fund as the recipient of memorial gifts, or have made one-time gifts to honor someone on a birthday or other special occasion. These gifts help us build our general fund.

Other Ways of Giving
There are several other ways to make a gift to the New Hampshire Children’s Trust Fund, and also receive income from the gift through your lifetime, enjoy potential tax advantages, while meeting your philanthropic goals. We can meet with you and/or your financial advisor at your convenience to discuss these “life income” options.
