Impact Reports girls planiting tree

The Impact Reports highlight information and outcomes gathered through administration of the Family Support Program Outcome Survey to parents and primary caregivers attending family support programs and Family Resource Centers across New Hampshire. The impact reports are one piece of NHCTF’s ongoing efforts to provide data and information regarding the positive impacts that family support programs have on the lives of children and families.

2006 Impact Report

In 2006, NHCTF expanded the scope of the project by surveying over 1,000 participants from 35 family support programs in every county across New Hampshire. 2006 also introduced a new cohort of survey participants: Strengthening Families Through Early Care and Education (SFI) programs.

2005 Impact Report

In 2005, NHCTF completed an analysis of almost 500 surveys from 16 family support programs across the Granite State.

Report on Physical Punishment in the United States: What Research Tells Us About Its Effects on Children

The Report on Physical Punishment in the United States summarizes for a lay audience findings from research on physical punishment of children, the legal status in various settings across the states, the international effort to recognize physical punishment as a human rights violation, and the growing number of countries that have banned physical punishment of children in schools, homes, or both.  The author is Dr. Elizabeth Gershoff, a professor in the School of Social Work at the University of Michigan and an expert on the effects of physical punishment on children.  She was assisted in its development by over 30 experts from the fields of medicine, psychology, law, education, and social work.

This report has already been endorsed by several national organizations concerned with child well-being, including the American Academy of Pediatrics, the American Medical Association, the American College of Emergency Physicians, the National Association of Counsel for Children, the National Association for Regulatory Administration and the National Alliance of Children’s Trust and Prevention Funds.
